Publisher Terms of Access

What you agree to when you open a publisher account.

1. What this account is for

A publisher account lets the Write It Great team share author material with you so that you can evaluate it for acquisition. That is its only purpose. An account by itself does not entitle you to any author's material: what you can see here is what we choose to make available, and a full proposal comes only when we decide to send it to you — through this account, or directly from our team by email. These terms cover the material either way.

2. Everything shared with you is confidential

Proposals, sample chapters, outlines, author details and our own evaluation notes are confidential and unpublished. Treat them as you would any pre-acquisition submission: read them, discuss them inside your organization with colleagues who are part of the acquisition decision, and keep them within it.

3. No redistribution

Do not forward, copy, post, publish, or pass on material shared with you, or any part of it, to anyone outside your organization. Do not use it for any purpose other than evaluating whether to acquire the work. That includes AI: do not use shared material to train, fine-tune, or prompt any machine-learning or generative AI system. The author owns their work; sharing it with you transfers no rights of any kind, to you or to us.

4. Access can be withdrawn

We can withdraw access to any individual proposal, or to the account itself, at any time and without notice — most often simply because an author's material is no longer on the market. If access ends, please stop using anything already shared with you and delete any copies you hold, other than those you are required to keep by law or by your own records obligations.

5. Your account details

We store the name, work email address, company and acquisition interests (genres and topics) you give us, the date you accepted these terms, and a record of which proposals have been shared with your account and the status you set on each. We use that information to give you access, to decide what is worth sending you, and to get in touch about material you have been sent or asked about. We do not sell it or pass it to anyone outside Write It Great. It is covered by our privacy policy.

If you tick the optional box asking to hear when new authors match your interests, we will email you about new listings. You can turn that off at any time, and declining it changes nothing else about your account.

6. Keeping the account secure

The account is yours, not your organization's shared mailbox: please do not pass your password around. If a colleague needs access, ask us and we will set them up. Tell us straight away at [email protected] if you think someone else has got into your account.

7. Questions

If anything here is unclear, or your organization needs these terms in a different form, email [email protected] before you create an account and we will sort it out.
